1st post, assignment 1, What is Politics?

For me, the definition of politics is the power struggle that occurs when people in leadership positions vie for control of an organization, government, or nation. It is negotiation, dealing, and swindling other parties out of their influence so that you may expand. I don't find politics to be necessarily to be a bad concept, but far too often it is taken to extremes that wouldn't suit people as a whole. Settling in the middle of these extremes, such as Democrats and Republicans, is where we can find our comfort zone.
